Possible fix to slow page load on Firefox after installing Bitdefender

Posted on .

If you notice that your web pages are loading very slow on Firefox right after Bitdefender 2016/2017 installation then you might need some tweaks to the antivirus settings in order to restore things to initial performance.

These settings might not work like a charm of all computers but you can give it a try:

Step 1: Go to Firewall module settings and on the Adapters tab, for your network, change to the following options:

  • Network Type: Trusted
  • Stealth Mode:Off
  • Generic: On

Step 2: Go to Web Protection module settings and turn off the Search Advisor and the Scan SSL options.

As optional, you can turn off as well the Protection against Fraud setting, but you need to have in mind that these are settings that supposed to provide protection against possible attacks. If you know you are navigating unsecure areas of the internet, then I suggest to turn everything on for that browsing session.

Furthermore, if any of the settings changes didn’t help at all, try to repair Bitdefender from the Programs and Features panel.

Please let me know if these adjustments did any good for you.
