If you are like me and grow frustrated each and every time you get a new browser instance after you start a website debugging session, then you need to know that it can be very easy disabled.

Just go to the properties of the Visual Studio project, select the Debug tab, and the uncheck the “Launch Browser” checkbox.

In the case where you do want to open your website in the browser, you can do it from the IIS Express application icon in the system tray.
